How We Work

Fundamental Understanding

Most capital advisors focus on introductions and volume. SJK focuses on understanding. Before we approach any lender or investor, we take the time to map your project, your constraints, and your real objectives. 


We evaluate what the capital markets will actually see, then assemble the right team, strategy, and documentation so that your project is presented in a way that makes sense.  We bring to the table the funding partners you need that are in alignment with your situation, actual goals, and needs.

STEP 1: Initial Conversation:

 We meet with you to understand the project, the current capital position and your objectives. If there is a fit, we agree on a scope, timeline and engagement terms so that you can share information in a confidential and structured way. 

STEP 2: Deep Dive & Structural Assessment

 We review your documents and data in detail, map out the real value and risk drivers, and identify what is actually blocking the project. The goal is to understand where the structure, story or information does not yet match what capital providers need to see. 

STEP 3: Strategy Document & Capital Roadmap

 We prepare a strategy document that sets out a proposed capital structure, potential sources of funding and the sequence of steps required to get there. This becomes the working roadmap as the project moves forward. 

STEP 4: Information Assembly & Lender Readiness

 We help you assemble and refine the materials needed to approach capital providers. That can include financial models, background information, third party reports, narratives, decks and other items required to make the project financeable and lender ready. 

STEP 5: Market Approach, Negotiation & Structuring

 Once materials are ready, we approach a focused group of potential capital partners and manage a controlled process. We support negotiations, run scenarios and refine terms so that structures are both bankable and aligned with your objectives. 

STEP 6: Closing & Confirmation

 We stay involved through closing, reviewing final documents and confirming that economics and conditions match the agreed strategy. The aim is to ensure that funds are received as expected and that the structure functions as designed. 

STEP 7: Post Close Review & Next Steps

 After closing, we conduct a review of what worked and what can be improved. Where it makes sense, we update the strategy for future phases and agree on any new or extended service arrangements to support the next stage of the project.
